Sunpetal Pediatric Therapy provides individualized, play-based ABA therapy for children with autism near Zionsville, Indiana, serving families in Boone County and the Zionsville Community Schools district.
Our center at 9505 Delegates Row in Indianapolis is approximately 18-20 minutes from downtown Zionsville, easily accessible via I-465 or Michigan Road (US-421). Families in Zionsville often find that ABA therapy options nearby are limited -- most providers are concentrated further east or south in the metro. Sunpetal fills that gap with individualized, play-based ABA therapy and the kind of small, family-centered care that larger corporate providers simply cannot offer.
Our team is intentionally small, our center is warm and home-like, and our approach is built around your child -- not a corporate template. If you are ready to take the next step, fill out our intake form or call (317) 207-0824.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy that helps children with autism develop meaningful skills including communication, social interaction, daily living, and emotional regulation. It is endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Psychological Association, and the U.S. Surgeon General as one of the most effective treatments for autism spectrum disorder.
At Sunpetal, our ABA therapy programs are child-led and play-based. Rather than rigid table-based instruction, our therapists follow each child's lead -- joining them in activities they enjoy and building communication, social, and life skills naturally into those moments. The result is therapy your child actually looks forward to, and skills that transfer into real everyday life.
Skills commonly targeted in ABA therapy include:

Step 1: Contact Us
Call (317) 207-0824, email intake@sunpetaltherapy.org, or fill out our intake form. We respond quickly.
Step 2: Insurance Verification
We contact your insurance provider directly to verify coverage, co-pays, and authorization requirements. We accept most private insurance plans and Indiana Medicaid, and can request a Single Case Agreement for plans we are not yet in-network with. See our insurance details.
Step 3: Assessment
A BCBA conducts a comprehensive assessment of your child's current strengths, needs, and goals to design their individualized ABA treatment plan.
Step 4: Begin Services
Most Zionsville families begin ABA therapy within a few weeks of first contact. Therapy is designed to feel like play from the very first session.

Sunpetal was founded by husband and wife team Ben and Julia, with over 20 years of combined ABA experience. Julia is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who has been in the ABA field since 2016. Every decision we make is guided by what we would want for our own family -- because we know what it feels like to care deeply about a child's future.

High staff turnover is one of the most common and most damaging problems in ABA therapy. Children with autism build trust slowly, and constantly adjusting to new therapists slows progress and adds unnecessary stress.
At Sunpetal, we keep our team small and our caseloads manageable so your child works with the same familiar, caring faces every week. This consistency is the foundation of everything we do. It is also one of the primary reasons families switch to Sunpetal from other providers. Read more about why smaller ABA centers make a big difference.

Research supports starting ABA therapy as early as 18 months to 2 years old. At Sunpetal we serve children ages 2-10. Earlier is generally better, but ABA is effective at any age within that range. See our full post on what age to start ABA therapy.
Yes -- most commercial insurance plans and Indiana Medicaid cover ABA therapy for children with an autism diagnosis. We verify your specific benefits before services begin so there are no financial surprises. See our Insurance and Billing page.
Fill out our intake form or call (317) 207-0824. We handle insurance verification and walk you through every step from start to finish.
Many families schedule ABA therapy before or after school hours. For younger children not yet in school, therapy typically happens during the day as part of early intervention. Read our guide on ABA therapy and school scheduling for more detail.
The number of therapy hours is determined by a BCBA following a comprehensive assessment and is based entirely on your child's individual needs. Some children benefit from a few focused hours per week; others need more intensive support. Learn more about our programs.

Our therapy center feels like a home, not a clinic. Our large open therapy space encourages exploration and imagination. Our dedicated Cloud Room provides a calm, low-stimulation sensory space that helps children self-regulate quickly -- so they can return to learning rather than spiraling.
