Sunpetal Pediatric Therapy provides individualized, play-based ABA therapy for children with autism near Carmel, Indiana, serving families throughout the Carmel Clay Schools district and Hamilton County.
Our center at 9505 Delegates Row in Indianapolis is approximately 10 minutes from most Carmel neighborhoods, making it one of the most convenient ABA therapy options for families on the south side of Hamilton County. Carmel consistently ranks among Indiana's fastest-growing and most family-oriented communities -- and with that growth has come a rising number of families navigating autism diagnoses and looking for high-quality, individualized ABA therapy close to home.
Carmel families make up a significant portion of the children we serve, and we have had the privilege of being part of many success stories across the Carmel Clay Schools community. We built Sunpetal to offer something different from the large corporate ABA providers that dominate the market -- a small, relationship-driven center where your child is known by name and your family is treated as a true partner in their progress.
If your child has received an autism diagnosis and you are ready to explore ABA therapy, fill out our intake form or call (317) 207-0824.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy that helps children with autism develop meaningful skills including communication, social interaction, daily living, and emotional regulation. It is endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Psychological Association, and the U.S. Surgeon General as one of the most effective treatments for autism spectrum disorder.
At Sunpetal, our ABA therapy programs are child-led and play-based. Rather than rigid, table-based sessions, our therapists follow each child's lead -- observing what they enjoy, joining them in activities they choose, and building learning opportunities naturally into those moments. This approach produces faster, more generalized skill development because children are learning in the context of real, meaningful experiences.

1.Contact Sunpetal
Call (317) 207-0824, email intake@sunpetaltherapy.org, or fill out our intake form. We respond quickly and clearly.
2. Verify insurance and complete assessment
We contact your insurance provider directly to verify coverage, co-pays, and authorization requirements. We accept most private insurance plans and Indiana Medicaid. See our full insurance information. If your plan is not in-network, we can request a Single Case Agreement. A BCBA conducts a comprehensive assessment of your child's current strengths, needs, and goals to design their individualized ABA treatment plan.
3. Begin services within weeks
Most Carmel families begin ABA therapy within a few weeks of first contact. Therapy is designed to feel like play from the very first session.

Sunpetal was founded by husband and wife team Ben and Julia, with over 20 years of combined ABA experience. Julia is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who has been working with children with autism since 2016. Every decision at Sunpetal is guided by what we would want for our own family -- which is why we built the kind of center we would choose ourselves.

Our center is located at 9505 Delegates Row, Indianapolis, IN 46240 - approximately:

High staff turnover is one of the most common and most damaging problems in ABA therapy. Children with autism build trust slowly, and having to restart that relationship repeatedly costs real time and real progress.
At Sunpetal, our team is intentionally small and our caseloads are manageable -- so your child works with familiar faces who genuinely know them. This consistency is one of the most common reasons Carmel families choose Sunpetal over larger providers. Read more about why smaller therapy centers make a big difference.

Our therapy center has a home-like feel designed to make your child feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn. Our large open therapy space encourages exploration and child-directed play, and our dedicated Cloud Room provides a calm, low-stimulation sensory space for children who need a regulated break. Take a look at our center before your first visit.

Sunpetal is located just outside the Carmel Clay Schools boundary in Indianapolis, approximately 10 minutes from most Carmel neighborhoods. We serve many families whose children attend Carmel Clay schools and are happy to coordinate with school teams to ensure goals stay consistent across settings. Read our post on ABA therapy and school at the same time for more on how we support this balance.
Research supports starting ABA therapy as early as 18 months to 2 years old, when the brain is most receptive to learning new skills. At Sunpetal we serve children ages 2-10. Earlier is generally better, but ABA is effective at any age within our range. Read our full post on what age to start ABA therapy.

Many families schedule ABA therapy before or after school hours. For younger children not yet in school, therapy typically happens during the day as part of early intervention. Read our full guide on ABA therapy and school scheduling options.
The number of therapy hours is determined by a BCBA following a comprehensive assessment and depends entirely on your child's individual needs and goals. Some children benefit from a few focused hours per week; others need more intensive support. Learn more about our ABA programs.
